The continuous swelling of the pancreas is termed as acute or choric pancreatitis. The pancreas produces some enzymes; which help in the digestion of food. Insulin and glucagons are also produced by the pancreas. Acute pancreatitis becomes evident when there is undue inflammation in the pancreas.
