A recession of the gums is called receding gums. This ailment s prevalent in middle aged people; however, any age group could get it. The medical term for this disease is gingival recession. In this disease there is a rapid loss of the gum tissue. This disease could be hereditary; though not necessarily. Using a hard tooth brush for the purpose of brushing your teeth may also result in receding gums. If the teeth formation is haphazard; then also receding gums could appear. Bad oral hygiene may also lead to a recession of the gums. It is not painful and may go undetected for years. However, if they are detected then herbal treatment is the best option a person.

Sesame seed oil is one of the best herbal treatments for receding gums. The gentle messaging of this oil for 15 mins before brushing you teeth would improve the condition in 15 days. However, it should be noted that the oil must not be swallowed. As a further home treatment for receding gums; take 1/3 tsp of baking soda and swallow it with water. This hinders the acid formation in the stomach. This acid worsens the situation of receding gums. A month of doing this would be very helpful in treating receding gums.
