There was a time when anal cancer was seldom diagnosed; however in contemporary times it is spreading like wild fire. Incidentally the rectum (anus) happens to be the most exposed opening of the human body. The rectum helps in the tearing of air and the disposing of the excreta. The anal sphincter is the guarding shield of the rectum and when this shield is invaded by cancerous cells; the condition is known as anal cancer or carcinoma.
