pancreas

The continuous swelling of the pancreas is termed as acute or choric pancreatitis. The pancreas produces some enzymes; which help in the digestion of food. Insulin and glucagons are also produced by the pancreas. Acute pancreatitis becomes evident when there is undue inflammation in the pancreas. A person suffering from this ailment is prone to diabetes and other digestive problems. This disease is more common in men and the reason behind it is that men tend to imbibe more alcohol than women. This disease could be genetic also; however, anyone could get it. Hyperlipidemia or hyperparathyroidism could also be the cause of chronic or acute pancreatitis.

Nevertheless, there is a perennial herb known as Rubaherb. It is storky herb and a very good herbal treatment for chronic pancreatitis. The leaves are fleshy and large and can easily be plucked  and boiled and given to the patient thrice daily; after straining and cooling. The symptoms would be resolved in two weeks. The herb is also referred by the names of Rhubarb Root and Rhizome. The usage of this herb is prevalent more in the Eastern part of the world and has proven its worth for centuries. However, since this herb is well known; it is catching up fast in the West as well.
