A green bruise is very delicate and is usually red in hue. However, as the bruise; starts drying up the colour changes to a deep purple or blue. Nonetheless, as it starts to heal; it again changes its hue and appears to be yellowish green. Usually, there is no cause of worry if the bruise is not a deep one. If it is deep; then it would become a wound instead. In such an event it would become susceptible to infection. If infection occurs; then you would have to take a tetanus injection. Nevertheless, a minor bruise can turn to a festering wound if not treated properly.
The good news; however, is that there are herbal and home remedies to heal a bruise. The skin is as it is a very tender part of the body and so it is vulnerable to bruises; this is especially so with elderly people. This is so because the skin becomes suppler with age.
The application of Comfrey tea is a renowned treatment for bruises; the application of this would lessen the pain and prevent the formation of a scar. Cauterization; is another effective way to deal with a bruise; if it is not an open one. You can do this at home with the help of an ice pack.
