Tinea barbae is a fungal infection of the skin. This affects the area shaven and the neck. The skin develops rashes and itches a lot. Commonly it is called barbers itch. Though, this fungal infection is also called Sycosis Barbae and Ringworm of the beard. As the name barbers itch suggests; this infection is caused by a barber’s razor and is contagious. This disease has the ability to spread to other parts of the body as well. It is caused by a pathogen called T. verrucosum. This is the reason it is suggested to shave at home; as there some barbers who do not practice hygiene.
Margosa (neem) is a very potent herbal treatment for barbers itch. The leaves of this plant are natural antiseptic. They should be squeezed and the juice extracted. This juice should be applied to the affected area. Relief would come in a few days. This fungal infection of the skin is also known as Sycosis Barbae and Sycosis. Spilanthes mauritiana root is also an affective remedy for barbers itch. The roots should be grinded and a paste made of it. This paste should be applied to the infected area. It would soothe the skin and relief would come in a few days.
