In the USA this disease is cause by a pathogen named Borrelia burgdorferi; however, in Europe is caused by Borrelia afzelii pathogen and Borrelia garinii pathogen. A bite from a certain specie of tick is responsible for the spreading of this disease. The symptoms of Lyme disease are quite apparent and a person suffering from this disease would be inflicted with “fever, headache, fatigue, depression, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans”. If this disease is not treated timely then heart problems may arise and the joints would be affected. However, there is an herbal treatment for this disease.

This form of herbal treatment is only recommended from a trained professional as the ingredients used in it may differ from person to person. The ingredients are all herbal and easily procurable and may range from basil, wintergreen essential oil and peppermint oil to marjoram and oregano.
