This disease is rampant in miners; due to the silicon dust that is prevalent in the air. The disease is respiratory and is called Silicosis. In the beginning it would cause heavy breathing; however if not treated timely it could coke a person into oblivion. There are many chemical remedies for Silicosis; however, herbal treatment is the most efficacious. This disease goes by the name of Progressive Massive Fibrosis. It takes time to inflict a person; about 25 years; however once it does it proves fatal within a short time. This is the reason why miners are advised to wear a mask. This disease is also known as Grinder’s disease. However, there are some herbal treatments for this disease.
Bai Ji (Hyacinth Bletilla) is a very potent herbal treatment for Silicosis. You would need to grind it into a fine powder and take it thrice daily for good results. The symptoms would lessen in 3 months and would practically disappear in 7 months. 2 Gms of this powder would suffice. If this disease is not treated timely; then it could lead to tuberculosis and other complications as well. In this disease the lungs are susceptible and get filled with fluid.

The intake of air for the purpose of breathing through the nose which ultimately goes to the lungs is through a passage. This passage is full of cells which secrete mucus. The purpose of mucus is to filter the air being inhaled by a person. Sometimes it may transpire that the mucus is secreted more than required. Coughing is a result of the extra mucus being expelled by the body. A person who has a cough first takes a deep breath; then makes an effort to cough out the excess mucus. In a cough the larynx and trachea are affected the most.
However, there are certain proven herbal treatments for cough and they are far better than any other form of treatment. Grapes have the propensity to work as an expectorant. A concoction of grape juice and honey (one tsp) in a cup would give relief in some days. If there is dry cough; then Almonds are a wonderful home remedy. About 8 kernels of almonds should be grinded into a fine paste. Then 25 Gms of butter and sugar should be added to it. This paste should be taken twice on a daily basis. Relief would come in a few days.
