Pressure sores or bed sores (decubitus) are abrasions and sores with inflammation. They occur because of pressure caused to a specific part of the body; especially where the bone protrudes. These sore are rampant with disabled and bedridden people; as they are unable to change their position in bed without aid. They are curable ofcourse; however, only if detected in the benign stages. It should be noted that if they are detected late; the affected person’s life may be at stake. This is because bed sores hinder the supply of blood to the affected area. The most affected body part is the lower region (below the waist).
There is one potent herbal treatment for bed sores and that is Ginger. The juice of ginger is a natural antiseptic and it is capable of healing a bed sore; within a short time. The juice of Garlic clove is also a very effective herbal treatment for bed sores. You just need to clean the wound with the juice of these natural antiseptics.
As for home remedies; an attendant should be present with the patient. This is because the bed sore needs frequent cleansing and as a precautionary measure to avoid bed sores the patient’s posture needs to be changed every two hours.
