As the name suggests it is a disease of athletes. Tennis elbow is medically termed as lateral epicondylitis. It is a joint pain and the tendons become vulnerable to any strain due to this. The swelling in them could cripple a person if not attended timely. If the tendons happen to rip apart; then one could get tennis elbow. It is also called tendonitis. Any strain on the joints could be a very painful task. The joints become so painful that one cannot move them easily. A small thing like holding a glass would become a Herculean task. Remember negligence could prove fatal.
However, some handy home and herbal treatments are there for relief and cure from tennis elbow. Cold compress in the form of ice pack is very effective in reducing the inflammation and pain. Ice packs should be placed on the effected area for about 20 mins everyday. In about 3 hours the inflammation and pain would go away. This application could be repeated if required. Another helpful herbal remedy for tennis elbow is Zostrix. It is derived from hot pepper. It should be bandaged on the painful area. This would reduce the pain. Heat compress is also helpful in tennis elbow. The application is similar to cold compress. A hot water bag could be used for the purpose. Another known herbal treatment for tennis elbow is baked potato. Warm potatoes would hasten the lessening of pain.

Hay fever is an allergy to anything from saw dust to Earth dust; Infact, anything that can be breathed in. This ailment is seasonal; however, if these things are in the air all the year through; then one would suffer from hay fever all the 365 days of the year. The only other option is to relocate; nevertheless, this is not possible always. If you happen to be living in a place where there is greenery all around; then you should avoid going for a stroll early in the mornings. This is because Nature is at its best in the mornings. So the air is full of pollen and if you happen to inhale pollen; then you are sure to catch hay fever.
As a potent herbal remedy for hay fever; is to drink boiled mince of grapes with lemon. This ailment is also known as pollinosis or nasal allergy. Another herbal remedy for hay fever is to imbibe the boiled water of Basil leaves and fenugreek. This water should be drunk several times in a day to get the desired results. As a home remedy; there is nothing to match cold compress. However, it needs to done at frequent intervals to bring down the fever.

The jargon for hives is urticaria. If this thing happens to you then you would scratch yourself into mental and nervous wreck. It appears all over the body in the form of protrusions. It appears in such profusion that you would become a very sore creature indeed. They are red in color and are inflamed. They may disappear on their own; however, only to appear elsewhere. Usually it is the affect of some thing which you have eaten or imbibed and once you have discovered the source; you would need to abstain from it altogether. Anybody could suffer from this skin dysfunction.
However, there are some home and herbal remedies for this ailment. Cold compress works at times to alleviate the itching and pain. Calamine lotion also gives a lot of relief in hives. Milk of magnesia is also a very effective treatment for urticaria. You need to apply this lotion to the affected area. It would give a lot of relief from the itching. The drinking of herbal tea like peppermint and passion flower tea is also very beneficial for treating hives. Cornstarch and baking soda bath is also a good remedy for hives. Mix half a cup each of them in bathing water and have a bath with it.

When an unnecessary bone grows on an already existing bone; it is termed as bone spur. Jargon wise it is known as osteophytes. On most occasions it occurs on the joints. Bone spur in itself is not painful; however, if it rubs against the adjoining bone or a nerve then the pain can be excruciating. It is rampant in people above the age of 60 and it leads to spine degeneration. This ailment is a crippling one and can be fatal also. So, it is advised to take precautions from the onstart of this ailment; otherwise you would be a burden on others or perhaps land in a rehab. However, there are some home remedies to deal with bone spur.
The first thing to do is to reduce the swelling. Cold compress is very essential atleast three to four times daily. This is the easiest possible home remedy for bone spur treatment. If the problem is severe then heat compress would help as another home remedy. Curcumin, which is the yellow pigment of turmeric and flaxseed are also recommended as a home remedy to treat bone spur. One more home remedy is very effective to treat bone spur and that to dip a piece of cheese cloth in warm linseed oil. You would need a heating pad as the compress would last for two minimal hours.
