Tea tree oil is a very good herbal treatment for Onychomycosis. The oil; however, should not be diluted. Tis oil should be massaged to the effected area for two months; two times a day would suffice and within two months the symptoms of Onychomycosis would be resolved. Another potent herbal treatment for Onychomycosis is ZANHA africana bark. All you need to do is make a paste of it with water and apply it on the affected nail and two weeks would suffice in resolving the symptoms of Onychomycosis. However, make certain that the bark of the leaf does not exceed (60 Gms).

Fungus can attack any part of the body; however, toe nail fugal infection is the worst. Once, fungal infection sets in the toes; it usually proves to be an incurable malady. In America itself more than 10% of the populace suffers from it. However, it is rarely found in kids unless ofcourse one or both the parents are inflicted with it. It has been observed that the most rampant fungi’s are Candida and dermatophytes. Incidentally, Candida is a yeast infection. Both these funguses attack the nails, however, dermatophytes go for the toes. If the fungal infection is mild then can be treated with the aid of anti-fungal creams and lotions and if it happens to be a severe fungal infection then chemical antibiotics may be required. However, the safest treatment is herbal treatment. Incidentally this fungal infection is also known as Nail fungus or simply fungal infection.

Lavender is a very good herbal treatment for toe nail fungal infection. The oil of lavender should be applied to the affected area with the aid of cotton wool thrice daily; as it has skin soothing propensities. One month of this application would suffice in resolving the symptoms of toe nail fungus. Another potent herbal treatment for toe nail fungal infection is the application of pure and unscented coconut oil. The directions for use are similar to lavender oil. The bark of splinter bean tree is also a very good herbal treatment for toe fungus. All you need to do is to make a paste of powdered splinter bean bark (50 Gms) and water (boiled). This should be applied liberally to the area which is infected and the symptoms of toe nail fungal infection would be resolved in two weeks.

Tinea Capitis

Tinea Capitis; better known as ring worm of the scalp is a fungal infection. It affects the hairy portions of the body; chiefly the eyelashes, eyebrows and the scalp. The fungi which causes this infection goes by the name of dermatophytes. This ailment is more prevalent in children. It is contagious; however, disappears as puberty approaches. Symptoms could be “Round, scaly lesions on the scalp” the itching of the scalp could be mediocre, however, the effected region may loose hair. The lesions that appear could be dry or with a wet exterior (pus). Chemical anti-biotech’s work however, mot without side affects. So, it is safer to go in for herbal treatment.

Corkwood or Euodia Elleryana is a very effective herbal treatment for Tinea Capitis. A powder should be prepared of the leaves and stem of corkwood and boiled in water for 15 mins. Drink this tea four times daily; the antibacterial propensities of the leaves and stem would resolve the situation in a week. Improper personal hygiene is also considered to be a major cause in giving impetus to the growth of the fungi. So, it must be made certain by the parents of children that they have a proper bath everyday.
