Rabies can be inflicted by the bite any animal; however a mad dogs bite is the most cause of contracting rabies. In earlier times; a bite from a mad dog was treated as a curse from God as there was no cure for rabies. The person who was bit was regarded as devil incarnate and shunned by people. The disease spreads very fast as the rabies virus is injected directly into the blood stream; this is because the canines of the animal puncture the nerves. This turns the blood into poison; since the case is such all the organs of the body start to give way and as a result of this stop functioning. However, in contemporary times the disease is curable.
