Hematochezia is the medical term for blood and hemorrhoids and cancer are the main cause of the oozing of blood. The condition is certainly not normal and needs medical attention. There could be bleeding in the stools or urine and this is most certainly a cause of worry. These bleedings form the anus is a malfunctioning of the colon. However, the seriousness of the ailment depends on the color of the blood. Thereby the bleeding from the sigmoid colon and the rectum tends to be vivid red in hue. In many instances the bleeding could be like take tar i.e. – thick and coagulated and smells abominally also. This condition is known as melena. This kind of bleeding is not visible to the naked eye and requires a stool test.

However, there are some herbal treatments which have proven their worth in treating Hematochezia. You would need to decoct herbs like Sophora Flower Bud, Huai Hua (10g), Bitter Orange Peel, Zhi Ke (5 g), Biota Leaves, Bai Ye (10g) and Schizonepeta Budor Stem, Jing Jie (5 g). This concoction should be taken twice daily and the bleeding would stop. This treatment first appeared in “Formulas of Universal Benefit from My Practice”.  Since, this treatment is cold it should be left decocted for long.
