Scurvy is a disease of the infants and the main cause of this disease is the deficiency of vitamin C. This disease is also known as infantile scurvy and scorbutus. The disease is an aftermath of the absence of ascorbic acid in the infant’s staple diet. However, contemporarily it has been observed in adults; as a result of malnutrition. The foremost symptoms are the visible marks on the skin. These marks may turn to suppurating sores if unattended to. The inflicted person might get paralyzed also. Nevertheless, there are certain herbal remedies which have helped people.

Indian gooseberry and sugar are a very effective herbal treatment for scurvy. The powder of Indian gooseberry and sugar should be concocted and mixes thoroughly. One tsp of this concoction 4 times daily would fade the symptoms of scurvy in a month’s time. Indian gooseberry can be used with milk also for treating scurvy. The method is the same as with sugar and the dosage is also the same. Drink this four timed daily and relief would come in a month.
