Cold Sore is often mistaken for canker sore; however the disease is entirely different. It is not a long lasting disease. The symptoms are “Small, painful, fluid-filled blisters on a raised, red area of your skin, typically around the mouth, pain or tingling often precedes the blisters by one to two days”. The duration of the disease is seldom more than a fortnight. Nonetheless, it should be remembered that the lips are the most affected in this disease; however, if these sores appear on the fingers and nostrils they can cause immense pain. The pathogen responsible for this disease is the herpes simplex virus. It may be remembered that these sores have a yellowish exterior; nevertheless, the sores heal without the vestige of a scar. A person suffering from this disease should remember that this malady is contagious. Cold sore is also known as fever blisters and labialis. However, there is a very potent herbal treatment for this ailment.

Myrrh is very good in treating cold sores; all you need to do is to mix 12 Gms of myrrh in a cup full of water and drink it twice daily for one week. It has been proven that within a week the symptoms of labialis are resolved in a weeks span. Likewise ice cube packs can also be used to heal the sores. The infected person can cold compress as often as possible with the aid of a handkerchief and the symptoms would be resolved in a week.
