Tuesday, November 17th, 2009
Erysipelas is a severe skin infection and affects the lower tissue of fat. Basically it is disease of geriatrics; however children below the age of 16 are also susceptible to it. Alcoholics and diabetic people are all the more vulnerable to this disease. The symptoms of this disease are quite obvious and a person suffering from disease would be prone to “High fevers, shaking, chills, fatigue, headaches, vomiting, and general illness”. The part, which is inflicted with this disease, tends to get inflamed and becomes red. An attack of this disease needs medical intervention and there is no better medication for this disease other than herbal treatment. This disease may also be the aftermath of an incision or surgery and the pathogen responsible for this disease is Streptococcus. If this disease affects the nasal cavity then strep bacteria is the causative agent.
The dried and powdered leaves of Pedilanthus tithymaloides plant or devil’s backbone should be boiled, cooled and strained. Drink one cup of this tea for a week and the symptoms of Erysipelas would be resolved. However, it should be remembered that the mixture should not be boiled for more than 10 minutes; otherwise the potion would loose its potency.
