Buruli Ulcer is also known as Bairnsdale Ulcer. It is a slow paced disease of the dermis. The dermal layers are wasted in this disease. It is a skin disease and it its initial stages painless nodules appear on the surface of the skin. These may slowly spread to quite an extent. They heal eventually, however the skin remains scarred as an aftermath of this. Since, the blood vessels are affected; the ailment can encroach upon the bone.
